Hi, when a customer picks up a SPO, that has one of the new iMercahnt stickers on it the procedure for ringing them up at the register is as follows:

Select "Find"
Choose "Find Customer Order"
Scan the special order sticker

This will bring both the customer and the book into the transaction.
This is very important as its the only way that the SPO will be marked as complete.

If you simply scan the SPO sticker it sells the book but does not attach the customer to the transaction, thus leaving that SPO marked as "open" or incomplete in iMerchant. This is very confusing of course as we end up chasing books and calling customers who have already purchased their SPO.

The purpose of this board is to serve as a news feed for business related topics. It is the first of many steps to improve communications between the 5 stores. It's immediate use will be to keep everyone informed about the impending conversion away from the A.Arbor buying system and IT infrastructure. There are many changes on the way and since our current e-mail situation leaves much to be desired this is how we will be keeping everyone up to date. The bulletin board may also be used in the future for "all staff" notices, internal job postings, health insurance / 401(k) postings. This is an internal only board and permissions are granted based on employment status. For now threads will only be started by managers, however everyone is encouraged to reply. Please keep the discussion on topic, constructive and ask any questions you may have so the original poster can address them. We want your participation and need your help restructuring the stores. In many areas we are starting from the ground up and most everything is on the table for revision and improvement.
EMAIL: We are moving our schulerbooks.com email to what is hopefully a much more reliable host. The lost emails and failed forwarding have been a real problem for some people. The new host looks much more solid and also has the ability to set up email groups addresses so we can send messages to whole stores or departments again by using one email address. We will review and streamline the process for individuals to acquire schulerbooks.com addresses after we move hosts, and the number of account will be unlimited.
